Open "window" for the future

Welcome to the Portuguese Journal of Speech Therapy.

We hope that the Journal arouses the interest of clinicians, academics and researchers working in the area of communication, language, speech, voice, orofacial movement, swallowing and associated fields. The decision to create a new journal was motivated by a combination of reasons and opportunities:

        - First, because we believe it is important to recognize and promote the science evolution in Speech Therapy and therefore to contribute to increment and dissemination of research in this field;

        - Second, because we want to stimulate critical thinking and emphasize the role of research in the Speech Therapy clinical decision;

        - Third, because research is the key to interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities that we would like to expand at national and international level;

Finally, we believe that a scientific journal can, and perhaps should have multiple purposes, that are not restricted to those set out above and can be an open 'window' for the future .

The editorial line of this biannual scientific publication pretends to have the highest scientific standards. All authors interested to collaborate with these aims are invited to submit articles (original papers, critical reviews and case studies) that have not previously been published are expected.
